First stop was a tea shop at Needham Market for a fine piece of Victoria Sponge, before our first pub of of the day - the splendidly named Rampant Horse, with it's own -brewed Calvors lager.
Again, we had B**** with us, and once again it soon became obvious that he couldn't manage our modest pace. If fact, it became obvious within about 400 yards of leaving Stowmarket station, and fortunately B**** was gently persuaded that the ride was not for him, and he left us, quite happily, after our lunch stop.

Apparently, B****'s slow pace was partly attributed to malfunctioning gears.
Well, if my gears looked like this
and if my front mech looked like this
I think I might have had some trouble with my gears. A little bike TLC goes a long way.
Next stop was the Dukes Head at Coddenham, a proper, slightly run down, village pub, sadly in danger of closing
Then on to our fantastic lunch stop, the Moon and Mushroom at Swilland, a lovely pub with good food and Earl Soham beer straight from the barrel
There are some pubs that don't stock dark ale, on the basis that it doesn't sell. Well, it does when we're about
Disappointingly, our next pub, the White Hart, was closed when we arrived.
Less disappointingly, a VERY nice lady emerged from the locked door, asked us if we desperate (we were), and opened up just for us.
The pub had a particularly friendly dog, which appeared to have a worrying interest in Keith's lower regions
The on to Debenham to the Woolpack
then on to, remarkably, our only G***** K*** pub of the day, the Shepherd and Dog at Forward Green
It looks like Steve wasn't expecting the whoopee cushions on the chairs outside
Final stop was the excellent Royal William at Stowmarket, with superb Priory Mild
then home on the train. A grand day out.
